Here are 5 Hot Tips!
Tip #1
Don't bother with using the main "Search" box. Either click on the header next to a column heading to set a filter for the column (enter something in the drop-down box followed by pressing the <Enter> key), or click on "Advanced Search" (in blue, next to the Search box) and set one or more filters.
Tip #2
If you have done a search and got the results you want, when returning to that dataset click on "Search Results" in the left hand column to re-display your most recent search results. This way you can go back and forth between the Name and Place indexes and the Source datasets. Your last individual record accessed will also be stored in this way.
Tip #3
Remember you can perform a sort (alphabetic or numeric) on a column just by clicking on an individual column name. Clicking on it again reverses the sort order.
Tip #4
When there are lots of records returned, you may wish to have more displayed on a page so you can just scroll down rather that keep pressing the arrows to repaginate. Just click on the "1 - 30 of xxxxxx" area to show a pop-up where you can . Change the details followed by pressing the <Enter> key). To support this, the column heading will 'float' to help you identify the columns, even if you need to scroll over to the right!
Tip #5
Read the detailed guidance! Especially useful for more complex searches where 'wildcards' are required.
